CDPH Travel Healthy Campaign

Overview

The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) sought to build awareness around current public health threats, travel guidelines, and resources to help airport travelers and Chicago visitors stay vigilant and protected in a post-pandemic world. As air travel began to increase, travelers still sought information on travel guidelines and practices in and around the cities they were departing and arriving. 

Strategy

Morreale Communications activated its content and creative teams to develop a marketing campaign to drive travelers to CDPH’s traveler web page for the most up to date information and guidelines on public health treats and healthy practices. In addition to revising and updating the copy and content on the travel page, Morreale developed the ‘Travel Healthy – Prepare, Prevent, Protect’ campaign that included creative for a multi-channel digital and out of home advertising effort. Creative was developed for social media, digital display ads, billboards, airport display ads, transit placards and more. The artwork featured happy, healthy travelers meant to capture attention and encourage them to seek out the latest public health guidelines to stay safe.

Results

CDPH was able to retool and update their travelers web page with a revised layout and the most up to date content on COVID-19 and emerging risks, as well as inform travelers on how to stay healthy leaving or arriving in Chicago. The promotional effort also allowed CDPH to engage travelers with attention-grabbing creative deployed through several marketing channels to remind travelers to be safe and drive them to important public health information via CDPH’s travel web page.
