Associate Vice President, Transportation, Infrastructure and Mobility
Michael is an Associate Vice President of Transportation, Infrastructure and Mobility, who leads projects in transportation through the lens of implementing communication tactics and exemplifying leadership. Michael is experienced in working with transportation and government agencies, engineering firms and diverse partners on communications oversight, project outreach and technical communication support. He specializes in leading teams in developing communications strategies and deliverables for transportation projects. Michael has strong time management skills to keep projects and programs on track, exceeding deadlines while overseeing the delivery of top-quality work. He is team-oriented, collaborating with teams, both internal and external, throughout his career.
In his role as Associate Vice President of Transportation, Infrastructure and Mobility, Michael manages communications, outreach and public information for major infrastructure agencies, including the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDoTH), Illinois Tollway, Chicago Department of Aviation, Metra and the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission. In this role, and for these clients, Michael effectively creates clear communication strategies to keep the public and committees informed on key infrastructure initiatives. Michael also leads and oversees the implementation of outreach and meetings to Community Advisory Groups to drive two-way communication and crucial feedback to inform his clients on best practices and project implementation. From an outreach perspective, Michael works closely with diverse firms, communities and individuals, creating targeted materials to help diverse firms and communities work more effectively with and learn from agencies like CCDoTH, Illinois Tollway, Metra and IDOT.
Michael also leads communications strategies and efforts for Alternative Delivery programs. This includes spearheading public information and communications for transportation agency programs, ensuring narrative consistency across these programs to external stakeholders, as well as driving communication support by standardizing outreach tactics and facilitating high-level industry engagement to foster partnerships between prime contractors and DBE/VOSB firms.
Before joining Morreale, Michael worked at Metro Strategies, where he assisted project teams with public outreach efforts and stakeholder coordination, ensuring effective communication and engagement. He prepared research memorandums to support planning and policy recommendations, leveraging his analytical skills to inform decision-making. Through close collaboration with both internal and external teams, he helped keep projects on track and aligned with their objectives. Additionally, he conducted in-depth research and analysis on policy applications related to various transportation focus areas, contributing valuable insights to project development and execution.
