Penny Weaver,
Communications Manager

Penny joined Morreale in October 2025, bringing with her a career that’s anything but ordinary. A proud early retiree from federal service, Penny most recently served as a public affairs specialist at the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s Midwest office in Chicago—where she juggled media, congressional and community relations.

With more than two decades in the fight against hunger and food insecurity, Penny adds a powerful blend of advocacy and strategy to the Morreale team. Her toolkit includes media response and storytelling, event planning proficiency, and bridging policy and partnerships.

Her global footprint includes service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia, where she providedtechnical expertise in environmental education, natural resource conservation and rural sanitation, and humanitarian work in Honduras with The Salvation Army during Hurricane Mitch recovery efforts.

When she’s not shaping public narratives or building coalitions, Penny can be found pedaling through Chicago on her commuter bike, volunteering or at the farmer's market.
