Kara has 10 years of experience in program development, strategic communications and grassroots outreach in the transportation industry.

Kara’s transportation expertise extends to her experiences prior to her start at Morreale with the Illinois Department of Transportation on Phase 1 Studies, where she developed strategic communication plans for stakeholder involvement and engaged local elected officials, business leaders and key organizations in planning and highway construction. Recently as a Director at the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association, she worked to promote the transportation industry in Illinois. Kara has been working closely with elected officials to advance public policy and developed grassroots campaigns with coalition partners. She advanced relationships with state and local transportation agencies to resolve industry concerns and partner on special projects with the engineering and construction industry to further advance programs throughout the state. She also oversaw professional development programs, member events and conferences. 

Her professional career started at O'Hare International Airport on the Modernization Program in a supporting role to several projects as they managed over 80 enabling projects to successful completion. She worked closely with the Chicago Department of Aviation, Federal Aviation Administration and City of Chicago officials to coordinate time sensitive milestones and developed innovative ways to communicate ongoing construction activities. 

Kara has a B.A. in Political Science from Brigham Young University. In her spare time, she loves to travel and is active in her Church and local community.
