Madelyn is skilled at drafting and deploying strategic communications that influence key stakeholders in the public policy space. She excels at translating highly technical issues into consumable and marketable content, and mobilizing her team to deliver superior work products.

Prior to bringing her policy-focused communications acumen to Morreale, Madelyn served as policy advisor in the Office of the Governor for the State of Illinois, specializing in transportation and infrastructure policy. She managed high-profile policy issues and projects to advance a more equitable and sustainable capital program and an innovative transportation network. She played an instrumental role in establishing Illinois’ executive order encouraging connected and automated vehicle development in the state. She also managed the Illinois Departments of Revenue and Transportation in drafting and advancing legislation to bring the state into compliance with federal spending restrictions on airport-related revenues. 

Madelyn previously served as a policy writer, writing and editing content covering policy issues in Illinois. She analyzed data to make policy inferences and write engaging content for strategic placement in local, state and national markets. Her work has been published in Forbes. 

Madelyn also worked at a corporate immigration law firm, collaborating with attorneys to advise clients on U.S. immigration policy. She helped diverse clients maintain legal compliance while achieving their international talent recruitment goals.

Madelyn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Spanish from DePaul University.

In her spare time, Madelyn enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and their dog. You can often find them walking the lakefront or watching a good movie at home. Madelyn also enjoys a good read, and keeping up with the latest in transportation policy.
